This is a long needed product for Eotech style sights, especially if you play CQB and want to use an Eotech sight. It is not uncommon for sights to get damage or broken by a BB hit, and when you consider the fact that many Eotech clones are $100-$150 each, the thought of them getting damaged by a BB hit simply makes one remove the sight all together from your weapon. Now you can cheaply protect your sights from BB hits and play without worry and still gain the benefit of using your Eotech sight. I even use this on my Eotech clones when playing field games as I'd rather have to replace a $12 piece of clear plastic than my $150 Eotech clone!
Pros:
Cheap, which makes it easy to have 2 or 3 of these so you can have readily available replacements. Easy to install and remove, just slide it in between the outer cover and sight optics. Protects your expensive sights from being damaged by a BB hit. Works on the 552 model as well!
Cons:
Not very clear so there is some image distortion. The image distortion is not very noticeable when using as a standard reflex sight, but if you use a 3x or 4x magnification scope in addition with your Eotech this cover makes it virtually impossible to use the sight. The plastic is also feels brittle, so if you are not careful installing or removing it could easily break.
This looked like a good way to protect my Eotech from damage. However, the pastic was so wavy and distorted that it made the sight virtually useless. I wouldn't even think of using this with a magnifier. Highly dissappointing product.
Pros:
None
Cons:
High distortion.
Out $12 bucks.
