Overall summary. Get a Civilian JG AUG. $115
First off I got this from Rick's Airsoft Armory. I don't know whether or not it was the factory or Rick's quality inspection that missed this, but when I received the gun, there was a small crack on the stock of the gun on the top, about an inch long, despite the fact the box was in perfect condition. It hasn't affected the performance, it was just a bit disappointing, but I guess it gives it a bit of character, right? Anyway, the reason this gun seemed so attractive to me was the durability. Since I've had
bad luck with starter spring guns, when my friends and I made the switch to high end guns, I wanted something rock solid, which this has made more than satisfied, except for one small thing, the foregrip. During a skirmish I slid into cover, accidentally dragging the front grip on the ground with me, snapping it off at the joint. Funny thing is I like it more than I did before now and is easier to hold, and also kind of reminds me of the MTAR21 from Rainbow Six Vegas. Another problem I had was the magwell, which wouldn't feed properly due to the feed hole was a tad on the small side, a quick shove of a thicker screwdriver tip into it, and some gentle turning widened the hole and I haven't had the gun jam since.
Other than those things, this gun has been an amazing. The rate of fire competes with that of a TM AK47 upgraded with a Systema Turbo Motor. It has incredible accuracy due to a 609mm barrel. Despite what the site says, this gun shoots in the 320-350 fps range. I would advise getting a 9.6v 2000 mAh nunchuck battery, it gives this thing a better rate of fire and incredible battery life, it is just a tight fit in the butt stock where the battery compartment is. Well that's pretty much it, if you have the desire and the choice, buy this gun!
Pros:
-Very durable
-High RoF with 9.6v battery
-Excellent power
-Very accurate
-Can attach pretty much any scope to the rails
-No switches to change it from semi to full auto
-Very lightweight
-Easily disassembled
Cons:
-Some things aren't as durable as others (wobbly foregrip)
-Have to lube it a lot
-Hop up is a bit touchy
-Hard to find cheaper upgrades (extra rails, midcaps, etc.)
The Classic Army AUG A2 is a solidly built gun. The lower bodyIs a near seamless and strong plastic (not sure which type), but the upper receiver, rail, barrel, slings mounts, etc are all metal. That and the gearbox makes the gun rather heavy, but still very playable. It uses a 509mm barrel, which lends it to be very accurate. I've fixed a red dot sight on it and sometimes a scope. Both work great with the gun.
Pros:
accurate, Realistic feel, high quality, very upgradable, multi-position grip, completely ambidextrous, metal, heavy (could be con), high FPS, good range
Cons:
small battery compartment, gearbox is not ready for lipos AT ALL, heavy, hop-up will most likely break on you after extended use
