[06646 / BPAKMAGBK / BP007440307]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
Description:
The Beta Project MagPul AK (Waffle) 140rds Mid Capacity Magazine is basically a Magpul P-Mag for AKs. It is made from a durable polymer with ridges a all over it for grip with or without gloves. The base plate on the magazine is the same as the Magpul P-Mag which means magpul P-Mag Ranger plates also work with this magazines. This magazine is recommended for use with high quality airsoft AK replicas like G&G, VFC, Classic Army, Tokyo Marui, and ICS. This magazine may work with other manufacturers AEG but cannot be confirmed by Airsoft GI.

I got one of these a few months ago from another site, glad to see airsoftgi carrying them.
The build quality is fairly good on these mags, they're also transparent enough so you can see how many bbs you have left. The baseplates removable to attach ranger plates, the magazine is quite a big smaller in volume than the regular ak47 magazine, and it fits in a magazine pouch a lot easier.
The internals are also removable via two little arms under the baseplate, then you pull it out the top.
It really does hold 140rds, may hold more after being broken in.
Pros:
Transparent
Nice finish
Fits magazine pouches easier, because theres less mag curvature.
Holds 40 more bbs then other ak magazines
Cons:
Pretty wobbley in my magwell
misfeeds the first 10bbs on mine
Not the strongest plastic out there, but Its strong enough.
I ordered the OD one but I figured color does not make a difference since it's just the floor plate. Based on the review above I was expecting a weak feeling magazine with thin walls, I'm not sure if I mistook what he said to the extreme or not. I feel the magazine is very solid, I have a DBoys AKS-74 and this fits well enough, it does indeed wobble side to side, and just a little front to back but it's not a big deal.
The magazine build is to me very sturdy, it has two separate layers, the outside which is the tinted plastic you see in the picture, and then there is a clear inside which houses all the internals. The follower is pretty good, should be able to feed all the last remaining bbs but I've yet to test it. I have 3 different brands of AK-74 magazines, G&G highcap, Dboys Highcap and MAG mids. Out of the three of them honestly as good as the mag mids feel as far as rigidity they do shake internally and they are slightly lighter then this magazine.
I cant comment on how well or poor they feed since I have yet to use it at all but an extra 40 round over my mids is nice. The transparency is such that it wont give away your round count to an op-for but in daylight you could tell fairly easily. The MagPul plate is honestly the furthest thing from my mind but to others it might be the main reason to get this. Im not a fan of the waffle style of magazines for any weapon but this isnt that bad, the ridges are not jagged at all they are very smooth so it shouldnt get caught up on anything aside from the magazine lip.
Pros:
Looks good
Solid build quality
Nice concept
Transparent is a good
No rattles
Price for what it is isn't too bad
Capacity is good
Cons:
It's the 5.56 magazine type of it was an actual AK cal like 5.45 or 762 type I'd really like it but that's not the concept.
Nothing really negative to say for now until I use it on the field.
