Tech's Opinion:
"The Apex Guns have pretty much the exact same internals as CA LWRC guns. The 9mm Bearings are simply 8mm's with a larger outer race. The inner barrel looks to be of good quality (steel). The piston head, cylinder head, & cylinder are of the bore-up style. Compression is good from these parts. The hopup is the metal version of the new gen VFC. This gun also has the same design blowback mechbox as Classic Army & APS. There are some minor flaws with the design choices, such as the air nozzle compression and the mechbox durability, but for the price range its a decent choice."

I have had the pleasure of testing out one of these beautiful guns at the GI booth about a week ago after my gun had broken down, let me just say that I am thoroughly impressed and this is going on my Christmas list whenever a paycheck comes in. Overall I would recommend this thing to anybody within the budget range. However keep in mind the gun can be a little sketchy in some areas, a little tweaking easily fixes those problems. I am going to give this a 4/5 only because the mag well being a little sketchy can really get in the way of a good experience, and a gun priced this high shouldn't have that problem, however it is easily fixed.
Pros:
1. High range (170+ feet out of box)
2. Low price ($280)
3. High FPS (390-400 using .20)
4. Full metal upper and expertly crafted
5. Bronze finish doesn't glint, but has a nice shine to it.
6. Hopup has a lot of adjustment room and it too is full metal
7. ROF is around 16 not adjusted
Cons:
Now here are some low points:
1. The metal body scratches a little too easily and the scratches really show (Unless you like a worn look)
2. The Mag well is a little too loose and all of my G&G mags had to be pushed forward to feed correctly.
3. The Select Fire on the right side of the gun can get in the way if you are a right handed shooter, and I frequently found myself accidentally switching to SAFE without even noticing, however with a little modification you can fix that
I bought this gun at G.I. Tactical Texas and I absolutely love this gun!
Pros:
1. Amazing bronze finish!
2. Fully ambidextrous!
3. Perfect FPS for field. 490~
4. Fits multiple types of buffer tube and crane-stock NiMh and LiPo batteries.
5. Aggressive look.
6. Light weight.
7. Easy to find accessory (handguard/rail) kits.
Cons:
1. Certain mags will not stay connected. (this can be fixed by lining the left and back side of the mag-well with a thin layer of adhesive felt. (or replacing the mag release)

Staff Answer:
This gun has a Crane Stock/Polymer Handguard capable of accepting a Nunchuck style battery. Small and mini Tamiya connectors are the same, as the terms are used interchangeably. We would recommend:

Tenergy 9.6v 1600mAh NiMH Crane Stock Battery [Link]
D Power Universal Smart Charger [Link]
3332 days ago 0

Staff Answer:
While this gun is capable of using a LiPo battery, Airsoft GI does not warranty use of 11.1V LiPo batteries and therefore recommends use of a 7.4V LiPo like the one listed below:

Tenergy LiPo 7.4V 1000mAh 20C Butterfly Pack (Battery) [Link] 3340 days ago 0

Staff Answer:
This gun should be able to accept any outer barrel extension/mock suppressor with 14mm CCW threads on the outer barrel. Make sure that there is adequate space to account for any overlap of the suppressor on the outer barrel.

Also keep in mind that replacing the factory blaze orange tip which comes fixed on the airsoft gun does void Airsoft GIs warranty as well as any Manufacturer warranty. 3354 days ago 0
